tenia are a musical band. They slip into people's intestine from the ears, listening even for a few seconds one of their songs. They are like a series of dry pumpkin's seeds, like the ones you let dry to the sun before being planted.
They are all attached and partially overlapped. You can distinguish them only for their hair cut but they all respond to the name "tenia".
Some of them, if provoked, tend to become very nervous and to generate enormous and useless controversies that sometimes (only sometimes..), flow into politics or ethics.
They are usually considered pedagogically dangerous because of their high ability to have an influence on the way of dressing and speaking of young and inexperienced people.
All these characteristics do not necessarily present in the given order.
Undoubtedly they have no official magazine nor fan-club. They believe right and proper to explain that their name is not due to they worm-shaped appearance, as one could imagine from their nature.
When they do not study or do not go out or they have nothing to do, they play music, hence they play very often. When they finish playing they tend to assume a more relaxed and rosy appearance that sometimes may confuse them with humans, but, of course, they are not.

 

chronology

(1999, winter)
tenia begin.
They meet almost by chance, with an extremely heterogeneous musical background. In spite of this, they immediately start to make their own music, even with an anomalous ensemble of three guitarists. At that time, they practice in the evening, with two classical and one acoustic guitars, monitoring all with a portable mono radio recorder.

(2000, winter)
Bassman Giancarlo plays with them for a short period, while they start to use some electrical instruments

(2001, spring)
a new bassman, Enrico comes into the band. Unfortunately the project doesn't last long. In the meanwhile they approach PC recording, producing their first cd DEMO, with the songs inane , il tempo è poco and reticolo di sensi , unfortunately without drums.

(2002 autumn)
Again without rhythms, they come back to recording with renewed enthusiasm and a slightly better instrumentation. In this period they spend all their evenings to record in the singer's kitchen, working hardly and meticulously on the new DEMO: "la felicità è il mio disappunto"

(2003, spring)
It faces a new possibility for rhythms: Giampiero as drummer and Marco as bassman. Unfortunately the different musical orientation of the new ensemble gives to it a short life.

(2003, autumn)
Thanks to Gaetano, another band’s bass player, Gianluca, drummer without band, starts to play with tenia. Gaetano for a short period becomes the "official" bassman. Then he leaves the project.

(2003, winter)

Almost immediately after Gaetano's leaving, Giuseppe regularly starts to play bass regularly with them and the ensemble reaches its present and stable composition.
